Ikorodu Holds Oro Liwe Festival Thursday

The second Oro festival in Ikorodu, known as Liwe, will hold tomorrow, Thursday, June 12, 2025.

In accordance with the tradition of the town, women folks are expected to stay indoor from 11pm tonight until early morning on Friday, June 13, when the festival will be over.

Movement in and out of the Ikorodu Kingdom are also restricted for female residents and those that are visitors.

During the festival, only men are allowed to be outside, while rites and rituals are performed to cleanse the town and prayers offered for progress and peace.

Oro festival usually holds twice in a year in Ikorodu, and the first one, Magbo, was held some weeks back.
