African Church Bethel Cathedral Hosts Maiden Episcopal Visit Of Archbishop, Lagos Province

Archbishop Hezekial Adetoro, the Archbishop, The African Church, Lagos Province inducting Ven. Gbenga M. Babatunde as the Provost of The African Church Bethel Cathedral, Ikorodu during his maiden Episcopal visit to The African Church Bethel Cathedral Ikorodu

It was a six – in – one service on Sunday, June 8, at The African Church Bethel Cathedral, Ikorodu, the seat of the Bishop of Lagos West Diocese as the immediate past Bishop of the Church now Archbishop of Lagos Province, His Grace, Most Revd. & Mrs Hezekiah Adeleke Adetoro, JP., paid his maiden episcopal visit.

The visit was his first official assignment as an Archbishop, a week after he was elevated. On the same day, Archbishop Adetoro also ushered in a new Bishop of Lagos West Diocese that replaced him in the person of The Rt. Revd. Akinsola Akinwande and his wife.

The official induction of Ven. Gbenga M. Babatunde as the Provost of The African Church Bethel Cathedral, Ikorodu also took place, so also was the confirmation of young members of the Church after passing necessary tests and are now allowed to accept the body and blood of Christ.

Archbishop Adetoro inducted the Provost of the Church after the Cathedral Warden, Engr. Sunday Oshin, officially presented him for the purpose. He also confirmed the young members of the Church.

After his induction, Ven. Babatunde was presented with the necessary instrument of office before he was officially seated as the Provost of the Cathedral Church.

Officers and members of the Church across the Lagos Province of The African Church were in attendance to witness the maiden episcopal visit of the Archbishop and arrival of the new Bishop.

While Mr Gbolahan Onafowokan also celebrated his 60th birthday with family members and friends attending the thanksgiving service with him, children and family of late Pa Amos Olabinjo Oshin (Asiri – Abo) had the remembrance service of their father a year after he passed on.
