The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, has distributed food packs to 12,000 households across the district in the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir and in line with his commitment to the welfare of his constituents.
The distribution, which was aimed at cushioning the effects of the current economic hardship, especially the soaring prices of food commodities, and ensuring that families are able to celebrate the Sallah festivities with dignity and joy, took place across the five Local Government Areas in Lagos East on Wednesday.

Among the beneficiaries were people living with disabilities, aged, women, unemployed youth among others.
The initiative tagged, ‘Eid-el-Kabir Food Pack Distribution Programme’, covered the 16 Local Government and Local Council Development Areas (LGs/LCDAs) within the Lagos East Senatorial District.

It is our duty to stand with them and offer support, especially during seasons of spiritual reflection and celebration like Eid-el-Kabir,” the Senator stated.

He expressed hope that the intervention will complement the efforts of both the Federal Government and Lagos State Government in ensuring food security and economic stability for Nigerians.
“We must all work together — federal, state, and elected representatives—to alleviate the burdens on our people. I commend the various government efforts in addressing the cost of living, and we will continue to do our part to support our communities.
