Recovered pump action

Operatives of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC), Imota Command, have recovered a locally made pump action long gun during a routine night patrol in the early hours of Saturday.

LNSC reported the recovery in Imota in Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Ikorodu Division of Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, on its social media handles on Sunday.

The statement said:

“The recovery was made by the Imota Command team during a surveillance patrol around the Kolacord Hotel area in Imota. The officers initially mistook the object for a wooden plank but on closer inspection discovered it to be a long locally fabricated pump action firearm.

“According to preliminary findings, the unidentified individual believed to be in possession of the weapon reportedly fled the scene upon sighting the patrol team, abandoning the firearm.

“As of the time of filing this report, no individual has claimed ownership of the weapon, and no suspect has been apprehended in connection with the incident.

“The recovered firearm is currently in the possession of the Imota Command for further investigation”.
