Ahead of the July 12 Local Government elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has inaugurated a 54-member Campaign Committee.
In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Chairman, Ijede LCDA, Gbolahan Omotosho Rafiu, the inauguration of the committee, which is the first in the six council areas in Ikorodu Division, was held on Monday, May 19, at the party secretariat, marking the beginning of the party’s grassroots mobilisation to ensure victory at the upcoming polls.

The committee is led by Hon. Kiyesola Omowunmi as the Director – General, with Hon. Kabir Kareem, Vice Chairman, Mr Kunle Olambiwoninu, Secretary to the Ijede LCDA, Mrs Kehinde Fesomu, Chairman, CDC, Ijede LCDA and Noibi Idris as members among others.
Hon. Sarumi Ademola, a former Vice Charman, Ijede LCDA and the Chairman, APC in the council, commended party members for their cooperation during the recently concluded primaries, and formally introduced the party’s flag bearers for the upcoming election.

While the incumbent Ijede LCDA Chairman, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, was introduced to the party members as its Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Femi Kabir, was presented as the Vice Chairmanship candidate.
The APC Chairman also introduced the councillorship candidates across the four political wards in the council. They are Hon. Basirat Kehinde (Ward A), Hon. Mustapha Agbabiaka (Ward B), Hon. Saka Nurudeen (Ward C) and Hon. Temilade Akinyemi (Ward D).

Hon. Saheed Adefarasin, former Chairman of ljede LCDA, speaking on behalf of the party apex leadership, praised the party’s unity and expressed gratitude to loyal members. He reaffirmed confidence in the flag bearers and emphasised the party’s determination to secure victory at the polls.
Also, at the event, Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun, member, Lagos House of Assembly representing Ikorodu Constituency II, charged the Campaign Committee to engage voters diligently and champion a peaceful, issue-based campaign across all wards.

Speaking on behalf of the flag bearers, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba appreciated the party leadership, executives, and members for the trust reposed in them and affirmed her commitment to progress, inclusive governance, and sustained prosperity for the people of Ijede LCDA.
