The outgoing Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Builder Sesan Daini, has revealed his plans towards his exit from the office in less than 70 days.
Daini, and three other council chairmen, will complete their two terms of four years each in July. Although, Hon. Wasiu Adeshina, Chairman, Ikorodu Central LG and Builder Adeola Banjo, Chairman, Ikorodu North LCDA, had served as Executive Secretaries for about two years prior to their elections as the Executive Chairmen.
The young council boss, who spoke with reporters at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA’s Community Development Committee (CDC) on Thursday, said that he plans to continue to praise God, thank the residents of the council and preach unity and cooperation for the administration coming after him.

“I am here to thank God. Like I said on Sunday in one of the programmes that I attended, that all I will be doing now in any function are three things; one, I will be thanking God; two, I will be thanking the people, and third thing, I will be preaching peace, unity, and cooperation for the next government.
“It’s interesting to know that I have seventy-one days left in office (now 68 days today), and I have started counting the number of days since the day that I have 100 days to exit office. There is nothing that has a beginning without an end, and I thank God that I started very well and I have no doubt that He will support me to end my administration on a good note.

“Election and electioneering process of our party have come and gone. I am saying these because you people (community developers) are the foot soldiers of our party”.
Daini, who said that he served the party in many capacities during electioneering, added that his political party relies heavily on five major structures to win in any election.
Our victory lies on five cardinal points; one of the cardinal points is the Community Development Committee (CDC) and the Community Development Association (CDA), Christian body, Muslim body, party people, and the fifth, the market people.

“There is no category of human being on earth that will not be in those five cardinal points I have just mentioned, even the youths will either be a Christian or Muslim. Some of them are equally in the market, and some of them are in CDC. Those that are not in these categories, have their parents there and they can be influenced by the position of their parents”.
The outgoing chairman pleaded for unity and support for the flagbearer of the party in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA. Although he did not mention any name, but the state APC some days back published the name of Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, as the party ‘s candidate for Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA in the forthcoming LG elections, while Barr. Ade Ayeni, is the co -chairmanship candidate.

“I want to appeal to us that elections (APC primaries) have come and gone. We have struggled for positions but now that the party has spoken, everybody should be united, and stand with the party flagbearer.
“The party flagbearer will be communicated officially. He (his name) is in the newspapers, and whosoever our party has picked is the choice that we must all work with.
“I want to appeal to all of you that you should go and pick your papers, go on social media, even outside Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, go and start campaigning for a promise keeping party.

“I am sorry to say this, things might be a bit challenging for us at the moment. People might be saying that this is not how we elected you into office, but I am telling you that at the end of the tunnel there is a light, and I can assure you that our tomorrow will be better than today”, Builder Daini said.
He also called for support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu whom he said is rebuilding Nigeria, and assured residents that the country would eventually work better under his administration.
