-Councillorship candidates emerged too
Mrs Saidat Odofin, and four others have been elected as Chairmanship candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ikorodu Central Local Government and other four Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in lkorodu division.
Other Chairmanship candidates of the party are Hon. Dayo Bodunrin (Ikorodu West LCDA), Hon. Lawal Adekunle Sanni (Ikorodu North LCDA), Engr. Liadi Kazeem (Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA), and Kerubu Rotimi (Ijede LCDA).
Aspirants who are sole contenders in the five councils were elected through unanimous decisions by the delegates affirming them through voice votes witnessed by the officials of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) led by Dr Olumide Metilelu and the DSS.
Hon. Olanrewaju Oshin, Chairman, PDP Ikorodu, said that the unity within the party is a strong indication that his party is winning the forthcoming LG elections in Ikorodu division.
“You can see that we united together and with that after this primary election, there will be a great progress in our party and Ikorodu generally. Our party is going to deliver for good by God’s grace”.
The party’s candidate for Ikorodu Central Chairmanship, Mrs Saidat Odofin, speaking to THE IMPACT, said that she was happy to have been elected, and pledged to give good leadership and a new direction to the council if elected.
She charged Ikorodu electorate to come out en mass on the day of the elections to vote for PDP.
Hon. Bodunrin Adedayo Olumide, Chairmanship candidate, Ikorodu West LCDA, also expressed his happiness at his emergence and pleaded for support at the coming elections, adding that he would do it better than what the ruling party is doing presently in the council.
He also urged the people to vote for his party to liberate themselves from bad governance, oppression and corruption.
The Ikorodu North LCDA Chairmanship candidate, Hon Sanni Lawal, described the mandate given to him by the people, as a call to service, and he pledged to entrench good governance and makes Ikorodu North the envy of others, if elected.
