Labour Party Elects Councillorship Candidates For LG Elections In Ikorodu

Mr Edmond Ebere Duah, the Returning Officer, LP Chairman in Ikorodu and other party chieftains and members during the announcement of the primary election results on Thursday

One of the major opposition parties in Lagos State, the Labour Party (LP) on Thursday, organized its primary election to pick its Councillorship candidates for the forthcoming Local Government elections in Ikorodu Local Government.

The primary election overseen by Edmond Ebere Duah, the Returning Officer from the National headquarters of the LP, took place at the Otunba Adeniran Ogunsanya, SAN, premises along the Obafemi Awolowo Way, Ikorodu.

THE IMPACT gathered that the primary also held across other council areas where the party would be fielding aspirants for the councillorship elections.

The Returning Officer announcing the winners of the primary, said that 20 delegates voted in each of the six wards that the party is contesting in, declared Lawal Olatunde Wasiu, Ward A, Noah Semiu, Ward C, Ogunbunmi Raufu Abiola , Ward D, Ijaodoro Ibrahim, Ward E, Shokunbi Muiz Olanrewaju, Ward F, Ilupeju Olamilekan Richard, Ward G.

Mr Edmond returned them as the duly elected candidates of the party that would stand as the flag-bearers of the LP in the July 12th LG Elections.

Some of the returned candidates that spoke with THE IMPACT after the primary commended the process and thanked the party members for voting them to stand for the election.

Officials of the DSS were on the ground to monitor the primary election.
