Awesu Gets Labour Party’s Chairmanship Ticket For Ikorodu LG Elections

A former House of Representatives aspirant, Qs. Abdulazeez Adekunle Awesu, has crossed to the Labour Party (LP) and will be flying the main opposition party’s flag in the forthcoming local government elections in Ikorodu Local Government.

Awesu was, until recently, a candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Chairmanship position, before switching to the LP where he also got the ticket of the party.

The young politician and Quantity Surveyor confirmed to THE IMPACT in Ikorodu today, his new party where he would be achieving his dream to administer Ikorodu Local Government.

He confirmed to our reporter on Wednesday.

“Of course, I am a candidate for the Ikorodu Local Government election and I am contesting on the platform of the Labour Party to win,” Awesu declared.

He furthered, “I have quit the PDP and I left with my people. They all followed me into the LP and many are still coming to join us.

“I have officially written to my former party and they have acknowledged it. As I have said, we are not just in the race for the fun of it, we are in it to run. You know what that means in Lagos.

“My public declaration will be done soon, when we will be mobilising the entire Ikorodu for the LP,” Awesu said.

Dr Gbenga Oshin, Chairman, PDP Ikorodu LG, when called, confirmed to our reporter that Awesu has formally written to his party and moved on to the Labour.

The young, energetic, youthful, philanthropist, grassroots influencer, role model and mobilizer was born on the 15th of August, 1988. He hails from the Otambala family in lkorodu.

Awesu attended University of Lagos, Akoka and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile – Ife, where he gained exposure and experience. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Quantity Surveying from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, and a Master’s of Science degree in Transportation Planning and Management from the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos.

His passion and drive have enabled him gained valuable exposure in the field of Construction and Logistics, and has handled numerous projects within and outside Ikorodu.

His experiences cut across Project management and planning, Cost analysis/evaluation, Preparation and analysis of BOQ, Valuation of Work done, Project monitoring, control and reporting, Construction management, Office Administration and Management, Supply Chain Management, Procurement and General Logistics and many more.

Some of the key projects executed by the young Awesu are: Construction of 6 Residential developments in Awoyaya, Ajah, Construction of Residential Duplex developments in Ikorodu, Lagos, Construction of 3.5 star rated hotel in Ikorodu, Construction of a Mega Station/Bank on Mcc Uratta road, Owerri, Construction of Water Factory, Off Uratta road, Owerri and Construction of 33 Number Semi Detached Houses, Mambilla Estate, Osborne Foreshore, Ikoyi.

Others are: Luxury Flats on Muritala Mohammed Drive, Ikoyi, Lagos, Renovation of a 6-Storey Building at Victoria Island, Lagos, Quantity Surveying services for the construction of residential development and Lekki (3 & 4 units of 3-bedroom semi-detached building with pent house).

As a philanthropist, he initiated Awesu Dynasty Foundation (ADF) to assist the less privilege, widows, students and others. Through the foundation, Awesu sponsored JAMB forms for 400 applicants that will be writing the examinations starting from Thursday (today).
