A strong alliance of politicians across all political groups in Lagos All Progressives Congress (APC), Grassroots Movement for Tinubu 2027 (GMT), was inaugurated yesterday.
GMT is a movement dedicated to mobilising widespread support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR and advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda across all levels of society.
Mr Lawal Pedro, SAN, the Lagos Attorney -General/Commissioner for Justice, administered the oath of office on the Director General of the group, Hon. Bisi Yusuf, who had represented Alimosho constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly and others.
Comrade Japheth Odesanya, after the announcement of his name as the Secretary, Directorate for Students Mobilisation, took the oath of allegiance to the GMT.
The Chief of Staff to the governor of Lagos State, Mr Tayo Ayinde in his goodwill message at the event, said the 2023 defeat of Asiwaju Bola TINUBU in Lagos during the presidential election must not happen again.
He urged members of the group to begin mass mobilisation towards 2027, noting that this is not an open campaign yet as INEC has not declared so.
He however stressed the need for tactical interfacing with electorate in projecting the people centric policies of Mr President.
Also at the event present were Cardinal Omolaja James Odunmbaku(Baba Eto), Mr Kola Peregrino, Prof. Fagboun, former VC, LASU, Hon. Funmi Tejuosho, Hon Bayo Osiyemi and some local government chairmen.
It will be recalled that Comrade Japheth Odesanya played the same strategic role in the 2023 election as he was appointed Secretary to the Directorate for Students Mobilisation for the governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwoolu.
Comrade Japheth Odesanya was also the Director of Media for Indomitable TINUBU Support Organization (IT SO) between 2022/2023.
