Taofeek Olawale Ipaye: A Councillorship Aspirant Ready For Continuous Community Impact

A community developer and business man, Lion Taofeek Olawale Ipaye, who is aspiring to represent the people of Ward C2, in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area of Ikorodu Local Government has stated that his aspiration would be the continuation of his community engagement and service to humanity.

Ipaye who emerged as the 2023 AFA Youth of the Year for his impacts also said that if he is elected to represent the people of Igbogbo as their local council lawmaker, he would use his position to bring the dividends of democracy to his Ward He has also assured that he would be a Councillor that entrenches sound policies and laws for good governance in Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA.

He holds Bachelor’s degree in Botany from the Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, Lagos. He is a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and a certified professional in Health and Environmental Safety from British International Safety Organization.

“In the past years of our community engagement, our watchword has been selflessness, dedication and service to humanity without expecting any rewards from anyone. With this spirit imbibed, we are going to serve the people of Ward C2 with full dedication and bring them the dividend of democracy at every given opportunity.

“As a Councillor, we would also be alive to our primary duty which is lawmaking and we are going to come up with necessary motions and bye -laws that will aid good governance, transparency and participatory governance,” he said.

In term of representation, the young politician said that he would be impacting his Ward and people through his agenda, ‘HEEDS’ – Health, Environmental Services, Education, Development and Social Welfare.

While stating that he will be partnering with NGOs to provide his constituents with necessary medical needs and support sensitization and awareness campaign against drug abuse and other social vices in partnership with governmental and non – governmental bodies under his health agenda, he added that he will support adequately education on waste management and also sponsor or initiate bills on waste recycling.

On Education, Ipaye said the his plan is to promote sports development, sponsor educative initiatives and support indigent students with free tutorials, JAMB, and GCE forms.

In his agenda for development, the aspirant pledges to ensure grading of roads from time to time and facilitate street lights under social welfare. He has plans to institute food palliatives, skill acquisition and other initiatives.

Brief Profile of Taofeek Olawale Ipaye

Lion Taofeek Olawale Ipaye hails from Itumokun in Igbogbo Kingdom. He was born to the family of Chief Shamsideen Ipaye and Alhaja Ipaye.

He began his formal education at Ayotunde Nursery and Primary School, Igbogbo. Thereafter, moved to Oriwu Model College for his secondary education. He completed his tertiary education at the Lagos State University, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Botany in the year 2014.

He is a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management. He is a certified professional in Health and Environmental safety from the British International Safety Organization.

In the year 2023, he was awarded the AFA youth of the year in recognition of his significant contributions in the youth development space.

He served as the Project Coordinator I, Igbogbo Youth Coalition (2019-2022) and Project Coordinator II (2022-2024).

He also served as the Assistant General Secretary of Igbogbo Day planning committee from 2021 to 2024. He is the present Chairman of Oriwu College Old student Association (OCOSAN) 07′ Set.

He is a member of the Igbogbo Platinum Lions Club.
