More well educated and qualified graduates with track records of community and political engagements are now declaring for political positions in the coming Local Government elections and one of such is Amodu, Taofeek Olorunjedalo, a trained Health Educator, Sport Psychologist, and public speaker, who has declared to represent the people of Ward B in Ikorodu Local Government.
Amodu, an award – winning tutor and a proficient educator who has been involved in many capacities building and service delivery to the community is from the family of His Eminence Alhaji Amodu Tijani Olohuniyo, the 3rd Chief Imam of Ikorodu Division (1946 – 1976) and Mosene Chieftaincy Family.

In his declaration, the young grassroots mobiliser said that his aspiration was informed by the desire to have quality representation in the grassroots that would adequately facilitate good and effective service delivery to the people and promote good governance.
“This aspiration is borne out of a deep concern for entrenching grassroots lawmaking and promoting good governance within our community. I believe that effective representation at the local level is crucial for the development and well-being of our people.
It is with this conviction that I have adopted the slogan “Jeda Is Concerned” to reflect my commitment to addressing the needs and concerns of our constituents.”

The tech savvy councillorship aspirant added, “Furthermore, I have embraced the mantra “Your Voice, My Action” to emphasize my dedication to being a responsive and accountable representative. I am committed to ensuring that the voices of our community members are heard and translated into meaningful actions that drive positive change.”
While unveiling his agenda which he said would focus primary on the duty of a legislator, Amodu also pledged to work with the executive arm if elected to promote general good within the Ikorodu Local Government and assist in the further realization of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu at the grassroots.

“I am fully aware of my responsibilities as a lawmaker and I will be alive to them. Apart from lawmaking, oversight functions, and attracting laudable projects to my ward, I will ensure a harmonious relationship between the Legislative Arm and the Executive Arm.
This relationship will be geared towards bringing the dividends of Local Government autonomy and realizing the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to my ward and Ikorodu Local Government as a whole.
I am eager to engage with our community, listen to their concerns, and work collaboratively to create a better future for all. Your support and trust are invaluable to me, and I am confident that together, we can achieve great things for Ward D,” he said.

To achieve his aspiration which he said would be used in serving the people and community, the aspirant has solicited for support of party leaders, members and residents.

Amodu, Taofeek Olorunjedalo is a dedicated academic and a seasoned politician with a strong commitment to grassroots development and good governance. He’s an Health Educator, Sport Psychologist, Reputable Teacher, Award Winning Overall Best Teacher (1st Runner-up), Ikorodu LGEA, Prolific Writer, Sport Pundit, Public Speaker. He is confident, articulate and compelling.
Olorunjedalo is a native of Ikorodu, Lagos State, born into the family of the late sage, His Eminence Alhaji Amodu Tijani Olohuniyo, the 3rd Chief Imam of Ikorodu Division (1946 – 1976) and Mosene Chieftaincy Family.

He graduated with a strong Second Class Upper Credit from Tai Solarin University of Education in 2015, where he studied Health Education. In 2020, he furthered his education by obtaining a Master’s degree in Exercise and Sport Psychology from the prestigious University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, Yaba, Lagos.
Olorunjedalo’s journey in active politics began in 2007 when he became the Administrative Secretary of the Party Secretariat at the Local Government level. This was during the time when the political party, All Progressives Congress (APC), was known as Action Congress (AC) and later as Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

Over the years, Olorunjedalo has served the party in various capacities, demonstrating his unwavering dedication and leadership. He was a member of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) during the election and re-election campaigns of former Lagos State Governor, His Excellency Babatunde Raji Fashola, in 2007 and 2011, respectively. Additionally, he has served as a Canvasser and Party Agent in numerous Local, State, and National elections. Notably, he was the Party Agent of Booth 001, Ward D, Ikorodu Local Government in the 2015 and 2019 General Elections.
Olorunjedalo’s leadership extends to his role as the Ward D Youth Leader of The Mandate Movement (TMM), a movement under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State.
