The Chairman of the Consteng Construction Nigeria Limited, Engr. H.O.B. Lawal, through his foundation has empowered six youths in Igbogbo with the required equipment of their trades as part of attainment of the foundation’s aims and objectives.
The items were presented to the beneficiaries at the Induction of eminent Igbogbo personalities into the Igbogbo Hall of Fame and Conferment of the Adeboruwa Award of Excellence and Special Recognition awards.
According to Mr Niyi Lawal, who represented the foundation at the event, “The ENGINEER H. O. B. LAWAL Foundation in demonstration of its support for its immediate community and public has yet again given out various work-tool items to young and indigent youths in partnership with organisers of the annual Igbogbo Day Celebrations.”
Items presented were 2 units of welding machine, 2 units of Sewing machine and 2 units of Mobile phones Repair Rework Station.
Mr Titilope Andu – Balogun, Chairman, Igbogbo Day Planning Committee, speaking at the event commended the donor, who he called his father and his foundation for deeming it fit to empower youths in Igbogbo.
He said that the gesture would go a long way towards meaningfully empowering beneficiaries who he also admonished to make good use of the items for their economic and social uplift or advancement.
Al-Ameen Ogunmuyiwa, a resident of Awobo in Igbogbo who received a phone repairing rework station, expressed his happiness and appreciation for Engr. H.O.B. Lawal.
“I feel happy and very grateful for getting this package, and I thank God for letting me get this. It is a great opportunity for me. May God bless him for providing me with a phone repairing machine.
“I want to appreciate him. May God continue to bless him and enrich his pocket,” he said.
Another beneficiary, Mojisola Idowu, who also resides at Awobo in Igbogbo, also speaking said:
“I collected a sewing machine and I am so happy because I did not expect that I will get this, and me getting this means everything to me.
“I prayed for those that are empowering us with these items. God will continue to enrich their pockets, and they will always gather to celebrate by God’s grace,” she prayed.
The Engr HOB LAWAL FOUNDATION, was incorporated in November 2019 with major cardinal objectives of providing support services to: Lions Clubs International in Ikorodu in particular and Nigeria in General, Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers, Ijebu Muslim College, Ijebu-Ode and IMCOSA, Ijebuland through Ijebu-Ode Metropolitan Club and Egbe Bobajolu and the Organisation of annual lectures and events in furtherance of its aims and objectives.
Since inception, the Foundation has carried out numerous charitable interventions towards the attainment of its aims and objectives in the areas of yearly Award of Scholarships to INDIGENT students of Ikorodu Local Government in various higher Institutions in Lagos State.
It has also been involved in carrying out annual Environmental Clean-up Activities and Awareness Programmes in Ikorodu Local Government in partnership with Lions Clubs International of Nigeria.
In furtherance of its objective of organising annual lectures and events, the Foundation held its 2nd Annual Engr, HOB Lawal Lecture/Scholarship in partnership with Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (NICE) on the 17th of August, 2024 at The Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS) Secretarial, Alausa, Ikeja where scholarships were awarded to three (3) Engineering Students of higher institutions in Lagos State.
The Foundation is managed by an Incorporated Board of Trustees led by the Founder/Chairman, Engr HOB LAWAL.
