The celebration of the 2024 Easter in Ikorodu, was low key, as relaxation centres, bars and other fun spots experienced low patronage.

Christians globally celebrated the resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ today also known as Easter Monday which is the third day after his death.

The Ikorodu Ferry Terminal, which serves as the venue for ‘Galilee’ or ‘Oke – Odo’ in lkorodu, where faithfuls usually gathered every year, recorded a very low attendance. The lagoon front, which for many years recorded no activity during Easters, was revived few years back with concerted efforts to bring back the celebration.

Unfortunately, the galilee gathering cum Easter celebration witnessed a very low turnout for this year’s Easter celebration.

At the Lagos Park by the Nigerian Port Authority, Ikorodu Terminal where families and fun seekers usually gathered to enjoy themselves during every festive season, holidays and other days that they feel like, it was also low attendance when our reporter visited the park at around 3.55pm, after the ‘Galilee’ programme organized by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Ikorodu branch.

Most fast food joints and bars at Ipakodo, TOS Benson Avenue, Oriwu Road, Ireshe Road, Igbogbo and other places also witnessed low patronages.

Meanwhile, The African Church Bethel Cathedral, Aga, Ikorodu, continued with its annual Easther Family picnic today, with games and fun events for children and adults of the church.

Unlike in the years past, the picnic also witnessed low attendance.
