Our reporter, who was on site around 11pm last night to see the commencement of the process, also returned to site around 9:00am on Sunday (today), while the workers of the state’s agency were still working.

It was gathered from residents that the workers took a break around 5:00am, only to return to work few hours later.

While the Odofin road is around 70% completed, the Igbogbo/Bayeku road which connects it, is still very far from completion.

Meanwhile, residents of Igbogbo, especially those living in Bayeku, Agunfoye, Offin, Oreta and other communities along the road, have continued to lament the untold hardship being inflicted on them due to the dilapidated nature of the road, while social and economic activities in many communities along the route, have also been brought to a halt.

Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, during the commissioning of the ultra – modern Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA Secretariat in 2021, after passing through the deplorable road to commission the Prince Abiodun Ogunleye Housing Estate, had pledged that his administration would rehabilitate the road.

In addition, residents of Igbogbo, have been expressing their appreciation to the LSPWC, for the rehabilitation of their roads, especially the damaged tarred roads across the community such as Rep. Babajimi Benson road (formerly Igbe road), Solawon Street, Aina Olowu Street, and Oliwo Amoju/Olayinka Street among others.
