Princess Folashade Olabanji – Oba

As the race for the Chairmanship position in Ikorodu Local Government is gathering momentum, Princess (Dr) Folashade Olabanji – Oba has called on the residents of the council which today is the third largest city in the Southwest and 12th in the country, to join and support her in her quest to transform Ikorodu.

Although, Princess Oba, currently the Vice Chairman of Ikorodu Local government, is yet to formally declared her interest for the top job, she has, however, been reaching out to the people to make her intention known.

In an open letter to Ikorodu people, she said that her administration would unlock Ikorodu’s hidden potentials and make the city great. She, therefore, beckoned on the people to join her in the journey since she cannot do it alone.

Her open letter is reproduced below:

Dear citizens of Ikorodu,

As the sun rises over our beloved city, I am filled with a sense of purpose and determination. For me, politics is not merely a game of power, but a sacred duty to uplift and transform our community. It’s about fostering innovation, driving progress, and leaving a lasting legacy of positive change.

Today, I invite you to join me on a journey—a journey towards a brighter, more prosperous Ikorodu. Together, let’s embark on the ‘GrowIkorodu Project’, a visionary initiative aimed at unlocking the full potential of our city and its people.

But I cannot do this alone. I need your passion, your commitment, and your unwavering support. Together, we can overcome any obstacle, conquer any challenge, and build a future that we can all be proud of.

So, I implore you, my fellow citizens of Ikorodu, to stand with me. Let’s walk hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder, as we work tirelessly to realize our shared vision for our beloved city.

I need you on this journey.

I am counting on each and every one of you to make a difference.

Yours-in-service,

Aarebirin Dr. Princess Folashade Olabanji-Oba
