The initiative titled, “Empowering Education, Elevating Mind”, was inaugurated at the Epe Campus of the Yaba College of Technology (YABAYECH), on Wednesday. The programme is targeted at indigent students from various departments of the institution.

To execute the programme, EasyGold Initiative collaborated with the faculty Associations, to identify eligible beneficiaries based on predetermined criteria.

Food packs, containing essential items, ensuring nutritional value and varieties to meet diverse dietary needs, were distributed to the indigent students.

According to the founder of EasyGold Initiative, Mr Hassan Ekundayo, “The programme is aimed at addressing mental health issues among indigent students through the provision of food packs, as well as promote a holistic approach to student’s well-being by addressing both physical and mental health needs.

“By combining practical support with educational initiatives, the programme not only alleviated immediate food insecurity, but also empowered students with knowledge and resources to prioritize their mental well-being. Continued efforts in this direction can contribute to fostering a healthier and more supportive educational environment for all students”, Mr Hassan added.
