Ikorodu North LCDA Sets To Begin Road Construction At Low – Cost Housing Estate

The announcement by the Chairman of Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Builder Adeola Banjo, to commence multiple road constructions within the Federal Low-Cost Housing Estate, along the Sabo – Itamaga Road, Ikorodu, has elicited joy amongst the residents.

The residents commended the Council boss at the stakeholders meeting held at A – Lane Road within the estate, last weekend for his thoughtfulness to construct the roads.

In a statement by the Information Officer, Ikorodu North LCDA, the council stated that the roads would be constructed in phases, and will have drainages and street lights that would light up the estate.

In the same vein, Builder Banjo, while addressing the joyous audience, announced that his intervention works in the estate would be done in phases, starting immediately with the A-lane street, AM lane, the estate entrance and the link road within the estate that connects Prince Abiodun Ogunleye road to Sagamu road, Ikorodu.

He went further to announce that street lights and drainages would also be provided to enhance the safety of lives and properties within the estate.

Residents of the estate led by the CDA Chairman, Engineer Ayodeji Aka, couldn’t hide their joy as they expressed their unreserved gratitude to the Chairman for being the first person to come to their aid despite so many years of lobbying to get the roads fixed.

A resident, Elder Oduniyi, who addressed the audience, said he has lived in the estate for over forty years and has participated in various efforts to get the roads fixed but all to no avail.

He expressed sadness that some people that made frantic efforts at seeing that the estate’s roads are constructed and whom he would have loved to witnessed the day, had passed on.

The octogenarian, however, thanked God he is still alive today to witness this historic gathering after which he prayed for the Chairman fervently.

Other residents such as Engr Aiyeleso, Alhaja Obalereko, Mrs Oyebo, Alhaji Adenekan and others also took turns to appreciate the Chairman for deeming it fit to bring smiles to the faces of residents of the estate.

They sang, danced and prayed for the Chairman endlessly.

Ogunbela, Honourable Mattew Adesanya, Honourable Abiodun Salau and the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Honourable Abbey Banjo.
