Adeboruwa Cup Matches Suspended To Mourn Otunba Obayomi’s Death

Otunba Olanrewaju Obayomi, the Otunba of Igbogbo Kingdom

Matches at the ongoing Adeboruwa Cup have been suspended in honour of the Otunba of lgbogbo Kingdom, Chief Olanrewaju Obayomi who died two days ago, after a brief illness.

The Secretary of the Igbogbo Day Planning Committee, Mr Idris Adesina, who communicated the suspension in a statement issued today, said that Chairman, Igbogbo Day Planning Committee, Mr Titilope Andu – Balogun, gave the directive in order to mourn the passage of the traditional chief.

To this effect, matches have been suspended till next week.

“In honour of the late Otunba of Igbogbo Kingdom (Otunba Chief Lanre Obayomi), I have the directive of the Chairman of Igbogbo Day Planning Committee, to inform members of the Sports Sub-Committee of the Celebrations, to suspend all the football matches slated to be played this weekend until next weekend”, the statement said.

“Thank you for your understanding”.
