“I know Jokomba very well. He is a man known for performance. He is always dedicated to his duties. Looking back at the time when he was the Council Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, the record is there to verify. If he was not the best then, he should be in the second position. But I can tell you, he was the best at that time”, he said.

“In the same vein, I believe that he would do his best as the Secretary of our party. He would deliver”, Otunba Tijani added.

Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, Builder Olusesan Daini, who played a significant role in the emergence of Jokomba as the State Scribe, thanked the leadership of the APC for accepting the nomination from Ikorodu.

Daini described the new Scribe as a detailed person who will give his best to the party.

“We are happy. We thank the leadership of the party from the GAC to the Governor and our President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the State Central Working Committee for approving the nomination and appointment of our brother, Hon. Adeola Jokomba, as the acting State Secretary of GAC, Lagos State”, he said.

“It is a thing of joy for Ikorodu Division. We put in our best to make sure that the position comes back to Ikorodu.

“Adeola Jokomba is a detailed person. He is somebody that is known to always put in his best, especially when it comes to party affairs. So, what I can assure APC members in Lagos State, Nigeria, and Ikorodu Division, is that they should expect the best from him. He would not let us down. I assure you”, Builder Daini Said.

Prince (Hon.) Wasiu Kunle Agoro, Chairman, Imota LCDA, said that the appointment of Jokomba, is a well – deserved one for Ikorodu.

“It is a well-deserved appointment, especially for Ikorodu. We worked for this. Everybody can testify to the efforts of Ikorodu, in the last general elections. So, we are being rewarded for the hardwork and what we have done”, he said.

“Hon. Jokomba is a round peg in a round hole. He fits into the position being given to him”.

The Ikorodu West LCDA Chairman, Hon. (Otunba) Sulaimon Kazeem Olanrewaju (SKO), who lauded the development, said that it is a recognition of Ikorodu’s contribution to the party.

“This is a glorious day in our time. Though, we deserved more than what we are getting, but today, I am happy to call myself an Ikorodu man. It has shown that we are recognized as a major stakeholder in the party in the state”, he said.

“He has a lot in his hands and this is not just Ikorodu alone, but the entire Lagos State. As the State Secretary of the party, he has enormous task on his hands; the expectations are too high from everybody, because everybody in the 20 Local Governments and 37 LCDAs are now looking up to him. It is a great task and I wish him best of luck”.

The only female Chairman in Ikorodu, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo – Alogba, Chairman of Ijede LCDA, described Jokomba’s appointment as a big win for Ikorodu, while also stating that the new acting Scribe has the required capacity to handle the office.

“This is great for Ikorodu and we thank God for this day as we look forward to more appointments for Ikorodu. It is a big win for every one of us and I am happy about it”, she said.

“Jokomba is someone with experience and I don’t expect anything less from him. His emergence is also an opportunity for us in Ikorodu, because he is going to lend his helping hands to us”, she added.

Hon. Japheth Odesanya, former Secretary to the Ikorodu Local Government, said that party members in Ikorodu, and at the state level should expect good administrative inputs from him.

“As you must have heard, there were a lot of testimonies about him from the former Deputy Governor and others. He is cool headed, a rallying point and he is never desperate for any position and to that extent, people have come around to show him love”, Odesanya said.

“We should expect that a lot will be done with his coming on board. He mobilises, galvanizes and mingle very so easily with old and young people at all sorts of level.

“He is a good man, and I expect that a lot would be done. He is a very active person and with him, the party will be active. He is the engine room and the party would benefit immensely from him. He moves. That is one good thing about Jokson. His experience as a former Chairman is a good thing for the party”, he said.

Hon. Japheth also described Jokomba’s emergence as a recognition for Ikorodu within the Lagos State politics.

“His elevation is Ikorodu’s elevation, and by extension, the Lagos East Senatorial District. It shows that Ikorodu has come of age. The former Scribe is from Ikorodu and his replacement is also from Ikorodu, that tells you that within the party’s scheming and relevance, Ikorodu is key. That shows respect and I am happy about that. We should thank the Governor, Asiwaju Tinubu and other GAC leaders”, he said.
