Igbogbo Youth Coalition Felicitates Adeboruwa, Igbogbo People On Oro Meri Festival

As the second Oro festival for the year holds in lgbogbo, on Monday, September 11, 2023, the Igbogbo Youth Coalition (IYC), has felicitated the royal father of the Igbogbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr.) Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, on the celebration of this year’s Oro Meri festival.

The annual Oro Meri, is the second annual festival in the ancient community, during which female movement is restricted indoor.

In a statement signed by its IYC President, Comrade Kazeem Ogunmuyiwa, the umbrella body of all youth groups in Igbogbo Kingdom, the body also congratulated the Adeboruwa – in – Council, Oro Meri custodians and the entire Igbogbo people, on the celebration.

Female folks are expected to stay indoor, starting from 12 midnight, Saturday, September 10, till 5am on Tuesday, September 12, when the festival and other necessary rites are expected to be over.

“We find it compelling to uphold the traditional values of our race, and ensuring the sustainability of our traditions”, the IYC President.

“In the spirit of celebration, the entire members of Igbogbo Youth Coalition felicitate with our revered royal father, HRM Ọba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, the Council of Chiefs, the Ajana of Meri, and entire residents of Igbogbo Kingdom, on the occasion of the Oro Meri festival.

“May the Eledumare spares our lives to witness and celebrate more traditional festivities in Igbogbo Kingdom. May the kingdom witness unparallel progress as we celebrate this year’s Oro festival.

“A dara fún gbogbo wà. Moyo fún e, Moyo fún ra mi. Odun a yabo ooo”, he prayed.
