HiTech Will Return To Complete Ipakodo/Igbogbo/Asiwaju Bola Tinubu/Igbe Road Phase One – Asiwaju Basorun

An elder statesman and chieftain of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, has assured residents of Igbogbo, Igbe Laara and Gintin communities, that HiTech Construction Company handling the abandoned construction of the Ipakodo-lgbogbo-Asiwaju Bola Tinubu-Igbe road/Gintin Road, would return to site to complete the phase one of the project.

The phase 1 of the road re-construction starts from the Igbogbo Cemetery to Igbe Laara.

Asiwaju Basorun gave the assurance to the Think – Thank Forum (TTF) of the Ebute-Igbogbo-Asiwaju Bola Tinubu-Igbe Road/Gintin Road Volunteer Group, a non-partisan and non-profit Advocacy Group of Volunteers with focus on the completion of the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the road which has been on for about seven years.

The APC chieftain, during an interactive session with the group in his office on Saturday, said that the construction company would return to site this month (August, 2023).

He emphasized that the return of HiTech to site would be geared towards the completion of Phase I of the road project from Igbogbo to Igbe Laara.

Basorun also stated that necessary action will be initiated with Lagos State Government, to embark on the rehabilitation and re-construction of Phase II of the road project from Igbe Laara to Ginti.

The elder statesman, who is a former Secretary to the State Government, also pledged to open discussion with Hon. Babajimi Benson, the representative of the Federal House of Representative and Builder Sesan Daini, the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, on the need for palliatives on the Igbe Laara to Ginti road, to make it motorable, pending the award of contract for the road.

Dr. Olatunji Ekemode – Chairman, TTF, who presented the position of the group during the visit, emphasized that the body comprises of residents along the abandoned route, whose social and economic lives have been adversely affected by the state of the road.

He said that the group, which is an advocacy one, is interested in ensuring that the government mobilise the contractor back to site.

The TTF Chairman also stated that consultations and engagements with royal fathers, elder statesman, top politicians and political office holders, are parts of the strategies adopted to mobilise for the return of the contractor back to site, hence, the visitation.

He pleaded with the GAC chieftain to use his good position to appeal to the Governor of the State, Mr Babajide Sanwo – Olu, to ensure speedy completion of the road which has been causing pains and agonies to residents and other road users.

The forum had last two weeks visited the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Barr.) Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, as part of it’s consultation and engagement with stakeholders.

Other members of the Think – Thank Forum in the entourage for the visit were: Mr Adewale Oba Akinrotimi, Convener, TTF; Engr. Kamorudeen; Aleshinloye, Vice-Chairman II, TTF; Mrs. Balogun Nneoma; Mr. Olubunmi Ayodele Olayinka and Mr. Kunle Adelabu.
