Comrade Okeowo, Fakunmoju, Oyejola Ordained As African Church Lay Readers

-Church confirms seven congregants

Ordination of Comrade kehinde Okeowo and Prince Taiwo Fakunmoju as Lay Readers by The Rt. Revd. Hezekiah Adeleke Adetoro, the Bishop, The African Church Lagos West Missionary Diocese on Sunday.

Former Chairman, National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Ikorodu Local Government chapter and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Kehinde Okeowo, has been inducted as a Lay Reader in The African Church Bethel Cathedral, Ikorodu.

She was inducted alongside Prince Taiwo Abayomi Fakunmoju, a former Peoples Warden of the Church and Mrs Dorcas Adenike Oyejola.

They were inducted during a special service on Sunday, May 28, 2023, at The African Church Bethel Church Cathedral, Aga, Ikorodu, by The Rt. Revd. Hezekiah Adeleke Adetoro, the Bishop, The African Church Lagos West Missionary Diocese.

During the induction service, the Bishop charged the new Lay Readers to see their induction as God’s calling and take preaching of the gospel of God as their primary function.

Also, seven congregants of the Church were confirmed as Communicants by the Bishop after successful tests.

They were Miss Sobowale Aderonke Comfort, Miss Adebanjo Nifemi Aishat, Miss Mustapha Adeola Latifat, Miss Oshin Oluwadamilola Esther, Master Oshin Emmanuel, Master Fakumoju David Oluwatimilehin and Master Adesanya Melvin Oluwadarasimi.

With their confirmation, the young congregants become full members of the Church and entitled to accept the communion: bread as a symbol for Jesus’ body and wine as a symbol for His blood.
