Inauguration: Ijebu Obas In Lagos Charge Residents On Support For Tinubu, Sanwo – Olu’s Administrations

His Royal Majesties, Alaiyeluwa (Oba) Engr.) Kabir Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu and Oba (Barr.) Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Chairman and Secretary of the forum respectively.

Royal fathers of Ijebu extraction in Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, have charged Nigerians on the need to support the incoming administrations of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as President of Nigeria and Mr Babajide Olushola Sanwo – Olu as the re – elected Governor of Lagos State.

Tinubu and Sanwo – Olu are set to be inaugurated as the President and Governor respectively on May 29, 2023, following their electoral victories in the General Elections earlier this year.

The revered royal fathers spoke at the monthly meeting of the Ijebu Obas in Lagos State which was hosted by the Ayangbure of lkorodu and the 1st Permanent Vice Chairman, Lagos State Council of Obas and Chiefs, HRM Alaiyeluwa (Oba) Engr. Kabir Adewale Shotobi, at his palace, on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.

The traditional rulers charged Lagosians ahead of the inauguration of the new administrations in the state and at the federation.

Ayangbure, speaking to journalists at the meeting, charged residents of Ikorodu to support and cooperate with the Governor of the state for there to be development.

“My advice for the indigenes of lkorodu is to cooperate with the re-elected governor of Lagos state. Once we cooperate, we are going to have progress and development. They should support and listen to the government”.

HRM Oba Ajibade Bakare Agoro, the Ranodu of Imota, also commenting on the forthcoming transition, charged citizenry on the need for unity and peace to achieve development.

“Nigerians generally should allow peace to reign. At every particular time, God Almighty will appoint somebody to lead the community; a state or a nation because it is not possible for Him to come down and administer us. It is we that are here that will organize ourselves and foster unity and peace for the common good of the country”, the royal father said.

“The transition period will be very peaceful because we expect projects that will bring Nigeria together; that will showcase that as Nigerians, we can do it ourselves and achieve positive goals and that is what we are doing”, the royal father said.

The Oloja of Epe, who is the Vice Chairman of the Ijebu Obas in Lagos, Oba Kamorudeen, in his own submission, said:

“Well, regarding the new transition that is coming, I will implore Nigerians at large and Lagosians in particular to support the governor of the day, because there will be a lot of changes for good. If we exercise patience, if we listen and support the government, we will achieve what we want”.

Oba Olufolarin Kayode Olusanwo, the Alara of Ilara kingdom, Epe, said that the state and country at large would witness tremendous development under the administration of Tinubu and Sanwo – Olu.

“Well, the best of the lots has been chosen as the President – elect, and even in Lagos State, there should be continuity of development; of good governance and of taking his THEMES agenda further, so we are in for the best time”, Oba Olufolaruin assured Nigerians.

“All I can advise our citizens, and our subjects, is that they should all join hands to ensure that the government moves at the federal and the state levels. They should support them to the fullest and not only physically but also spiritually through our prayers. I want to believe that the best is yet to come.

“The President -elect is someone that is well known not only in Nigeria, but all over the world. He has the Midas touch and I believe if we support him fully he will deliver all his electoral promises and since he is a son of the soil in Lagos State, the state will be a better place that we have more development than ever before”.
