The chairman, Senate Committee on Industries and the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, FCA, on Saturday, ensured that the opposition party did not have much vote to win.

Abiru, who voted in the Governorship and House of Assembly election at polling unit 011, Odugate Street, Aga in Ikorodu, alongside his wife, Mrs Feyisola Abiru, won his unit for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate, Mr Babajide Sanwo –Olu, and the party’s Assembly candidate.

It was a wide margin between the APC and other opposition parties when the result was announced.

Senator Abiru, while speaking with journalists shortly after he cast his vote, commended the electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the security agencies for the seamless and peaceful voting exercise.

He observed that electoral officers arrived early at his polling unit and the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) worked perfectly for the accreditation process.

The results of the elections at the Senator Abiru’s polling unit, booth 11, Aga, as announced by electoral officers, are as follows:
