Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) Local Organising Committee for the 2023 General elections in Ikorodu Division, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, the Majority Leader, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade and former Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola, on Saturday, March 18, 2023, delivered their respective polling units for the Governor Babajide Sanwo – Olu’s re – election.

They also won the Assembly elections for the APC candidates.

It was also victory for APC in the polling units of the Divisional Chairman, APC, Ikorodu Division, Otunba Olasunknami Tijani, and the former Chairman, Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area LCDA), Hon. Gbenga Basanya, among others.

Asipa Kaoli, who was a former Commissioner for Agriculture in the state, said that the electoral process was seamless.

“The Gubernatorial and Assembly elections, as far as I can say here in Ward C4, Ibeshe and Ikorodu general, are seamless. The process is seamless. It is fast, from accreditation by the BVAS to collecting the ballot paper, thumb printing and putting it in the box. Everything went smoothly and one can say that people voted without any intimidation, any violence. There is even no altercation among all the residents within the areas that I mentioned and it cut across all ethnic groups who are all here. There’s no intimidation or harassment of anybody”, he said.

“The turn was good. What we witnessed was a class of people or a group of people who specifically came to vote in the first election, haven’t satisfied their motive, maybe they have less stake or not much of stake in this one (governorship) and people who you are seeing outside today are those who have stake and passion in this election and the other ones that are not here have satisfied their passion”.

Hon. Sanai Agunbiade, Chairman, Nigerian Majority Leaders Forum voting in Ikorodu.

Former Commissioner Adebimpe Akinsola who voted Polling unit 09, Ward C1, Igbogbo, also commended the conduct of the elections.

“As you can see, this place is very orderly and peaceful. The INEC officials came on time, set up on time and the people conducted themselves very well. You can see that everybody is on the queue and the INEC officials are on top of their game. They know what they are doing and they know how to do it best, without wasting anybody’s time. As soon as your name is located, they check it and give you your PVC. After that, the fingerprinting and thereafter, you go to vote”, she explained.

“My expectation is that this election across Nigeria should be peaceful as this place is. I am convinced that it will be peaceful and our person in Lagos State, Sanwo-Olu, will emerge as the winner of this governorship election and all our Assembly candidates. It’s APC all the way. That is my expectations”.
