LASUSTECH Shuts Staff School Over Student’s Death

The Management of the Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has closed the University’s Staff School.

The school located within the Ikorodu campus of the new University was shut due to the unfortunate death of one of its students, Master AbdulRahman Dauda.

Three teachers have been remanded in prison and are still standing trial over their alleged complicity in the death of the boy.

In a statement on Friday, titled, ‘Notice of Closure of Lagos State University of Science and Technology International Secondary School (LISS)’, LASUSTECH management said staff school will engage in on – line learning and restructure during the period.

“In view of the unfortunate incident that recently occurred at Lagos State University of Science and Technology International Secondary School (LISS) which claimed the life of a student, the Management of Lagos State University of Science and Technology wishes to inform the general public that the school has been closed forthwith”, the statement said.

“During this period, students will be engaged with on-line learning. The period of closure will be used to restructure and reposition the school”
