Babajimi Adegoke Benson, the representative of the Ikorodu Federal Constituency who is seeking re – election for a third term, has met with the executives of the party at the Divisional, Local Government and Ward levels.

Benson, at the consultative meeting with about 1000 party excos, sought and got overwhelming approval from those he described as grassroots managers, to kick off his campaign.

The two – term lawmaker also charged the 27 Divisional, 162 Local Government and 810 Ward executives within his Federal Constituency on the need to mobilise towards recording highest votes in Lagos State in the 2023 General Elections.

The meeting, which was well – attended took place at the lawmaker’s Constituency office in Ikorodu.

“I Invited you here today to thank you since we started this journey together”, he said.

“Also, I called you to seek your permission to kick start my campaign because we have been together and you are recognised as the grassroots and the party”.

“We need the support of all the six councils in the Ikorodu Federal Constituency”.

While charging them in the area of mobilisation and improvement on votes, Rep. Benson said:

“Importantly, Ikorodu is the 3rd largest city in Nigeria, that means we must have the largest votes in Lagos State come 2023 General Elections.

“We have so much work to do. This is why I have invited you here today to seek your cooperation and support for us to have maximum votes in Ikorodu.

“We need more votes, and it is incumbent upon you as grassroots managers to ensure that we return unprecedented votes.

“If they (state hierarchy of the party) request for 250, 000 votes from us in the coming elections, as the 3rd largest city in the Southwest, the 250, 000 is small compared to our capacity, we must be able to do more”, he charged.

“As the 3rd largest federal constituency in Nigeria, we are assuring Asiwaju Tinubu the highest number of votes. We shall also support you in achieving this aim”, he further charged.

“We are going to organise rallies to canvass and sensitise, distributes souvenirs and other things necessary to assist you in ensuring maximum votes are recorded for all our party candidates”.
