Ikorodu Peace Initiative To Involve In Health, Environment, Road Rehabilitations

Aside the provision of security to protect lives and properties in Ikorodu Division, which is the original mandate of the Ikorodu Division Peace Initiative Limited/GTE (IDPIL/GTE) when it was created, and its recent massive investment in education, the initiative is also set to make in-road into the health, environment and road rehabilitations in the Division.

Chairman, IDPIL/GTE, High Chief Adewunmi Ogunsanya, SAN, the Odofin of lkorodu Kingdom, disclosed this while speaking at the presentation of cheques to 195 beneficiaries of the group’s scholarship and bursary schemes at the Adeboruwa palace on Saturday, September 10, 2022.

The group, according to Ogunsanya, will be venturing into health sector next where massive equipment will be distributed across the General Hospitals and Primary Health Centres in the Division.

At the moment, massive construction of a Technical School at Igbalu worth about N1.5bilion is ongoing.

Chief Ogunsanya, who is the Chairman, MultiChoice Nigeria, unveiled the IDPIL focus areas tagged, ‘SHEER’ (Agenda – Security, Health, Education, Environment and Road Rehabilitation), at the event.

“Let me once again reiterate that our objectives are not centred only on security, but other areas captured in our SHEER Agenda – Security, Health, Education, Environment and Road Rehabilitation (SHEER), with a view to enhancing development and comfort of the citizenry”, Odofin Ogunsanya said.

“I want you to be rest assured of our commitment towards this goal as our intervention in the socio – economic activities in the Division would be a continuum”, he added.

Speaking on the IDPIL next line of action, Odofin Ogunsanya said that the group will be making donations to the General Hospitals in Ikorodu Division.

“We are going next into health sector and we plan to donate to General Hospitals in Ikorodu and all the maternities in the six Councils of Ikorodu”, he revealed.

“When we are going to launch that, it will be at my father’s palace in Imota ( Ranodu’s palace). That is where we are executing the next agenda”.

The Ayangbure of Ikorodu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabir Adewale Shotobi, while commending the Chairman of the IDPIL, also revealed that a massive construction of a Technical College by the business mogul worth N1.5Billion on 50 hectares of land is ongoing.

“On behalf of the entire royal fathers in Ikorodu Division, we want to say a big thank you to you Odofin Adewunmi Ogunsanya, SAN. We thank you greatly for your efforts. We must appreciate you.

“This is a very laudable initiative for our children and I again commend and appreciate him.

“Still on education, the construction of a vocational study centre on a – 50 hectares of land donated by him is ongoing. He has promised to use about N1.5bilion in executing that project.

“After that, he will be migrating to the health sector. I thank you all for helping me to thank him”.

THE IMPACT learnt that the construction of the Technical College at Igbalu, when completed, will be managed by the IDPIL/GTE on behalf of the division.
