Officers of The African Lads and Lasses Brigade, Lagos State Command, have paid a courtesy call on the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, His Royal Majesty, Alaiyeluwa (Oba) Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Emugoriade II, in his palace in Igbogbo.

The visit was part of the 2022 8-day Biennial Leadership Training Camping of the Command which took off last Sunday at the Lagos State Civil Service Model College, lgbogbo.

The training is themed, ‘Engaging The Youths For A Maximum Productivity’, and tagged, ‘Igbogbo 2022’.

While receiving them in his palace, the royal father welcomed the State Chairman of The African Lads & Lasses Brigade and also thanked them for choosing his kingdom for their convergence.

“You are welcome to Igbogbo Kingdom. I am so glad to see you coming here to Igbogbo. My chiefs and l are pleased to host your camping and so happy to receive this group on our land”, the royal father said.

“We all welcome you gladly with all our hearts to our land. We pray that you will never regret coming to Igbogbo and this will not be your last. We hope that you will be bringing more progarmmes to our kingdom.

Oba Kasali said that he and his chiefs also experienced and partook in many voluntary organisations while growing up.

“Our fathers and some of us also passed through these processes. Activities of this Brigade are not different from what we used to know before now. I hope that it is still being done the way it is supposed to be done”, Oba Kasali asked rhetorically.

“We know this group (Brigade), the way we know Boys Scout, Girls Guide , Red Cross and later, other organizations were set up like Sherriff Guide and so many like that”, Oba Kasali recalled.

The State Chairman, The African Lads & Lasses Brigade, SABG Adesola Olugbenga, speaking earlier, introduced officers in his entourage while thanking the royal father and his chiefs for accommodating them in Igbogbo for the 2022 leadership training.

He said that the Brigade was formed to engage and make young members of The African Church active in Church and community activities.

SABG Olugbenga also said that the brigade has, over the years, served as training ground for many that have turned out to be leaders in the Church and larger society.

He added that the organization has also been instilling discipline in members.
