Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, the representative of Ikorodu Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Defense, has declared that Sen. Kashim Shettima, is the right person to be the Vice Presidential candidate to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He said that the former Governor of Borno State has the capacity to assist Tinubu in delivering on his electoral promises when the party constitutes a new government in 2023.
The two – term lawmaker made his position on the choice of Shettima as the APC Vice Presidentail candidate, known in a statement he personally signed at the weekend.
“I congratulate the former Governor of Borno State, Senator Kashim Shettima, on his emergence as the running mate to the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate and by God’s grace, incoming President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu”, Rep. Benson said.
“No doubt, Senator Shettima is the right candidate that can assist the presidential candidate deliver on his manifestos by May 2023.
While stating that the APC ticket is beyond Muslim – Muslim ticket, Rep. Benson also said that Shettima has a good knowledge of the country’s politics and committed to bringing about good governance.
“Aside working assiduously as the Director-General, Tinubu Presidential Campaign Organization during the presidential primary and extraordinary national convention of the ruling party, Senator Shettima is cerebral in thinking and has indepth understanding of the Nigerian situation.
“He is awesomely committed to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s mission to redefine governance for a better Nigeria.
“Let’s give Tinubu/Shettima a chance, beyond Muslim-Muslim ticket and Nigeria will be better again”.
