Auntie Lola Foundation Engages, Motivates Pupils In Career Paths

It was a practical approach to making kids choose and fall in love with what they intend to become in future as Auntie Lola Foundation engaged pupils of Local Government Primary School, Ipakodo in Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area of Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria.

The event, which included over 300 pupils – regular and special pupils who were kitted in the costumes of their choice careers, was held on Friday, July 1, 2022.

Auntie Lola Foundation was founded by Mrs Lolade Mabodu, a classroom teacher in public school.

The event exposed the school children to various professions with selected professionals showing them how to attain their future desires, what to do and how to get there.

Auntie Lola, members of his crew and resource persons with pupils aspiring to be lawyers.

Videos of professionals, both normal and special ones, who had made it in life were displayed to the pupils through projector to encourage them.

In attendance was Tope Shitta-Bay, an actor who motivated those who are aspiring to go into the movie industry.

Mr Owolewa M.O, the Head of Unit and Assistant Head Teacher of the School, commended Mrs Lolade Mabodu, a classroom teacher in public school and founder of Auntie Lola Foundation and her crew members, for their efforts.

Amodu Taofeek Olorunjedalo, a member of the Auntie Lola Foundation, speaking with THE IMPACT, said that the focus of the foundation is pupils in the public primary schools with the aim of guiding them in their career paths through motivations and encouragement.

Pupils of LG Primary School, Ipakodo that are aspiring to go into forces saluting with Auntie Lola and crew members.

“Public Primary School is the area of focus and the desire is to spread the gospel and take this career day to all public primary schools in Ikorodu Division”, he said.

“Auntie Lola foundation is passionate about filling the developmental needs of the children by providing aids and trainings that promote their physical and mental health, digital wellness, vocational and academic excellence.

“Additionally, the Foundation’s intent is to give public primary school pupils sense of belonging in the world and a voice that can be heard even as a young child and also bring out the inbuilt talents embedded in them as children”, Amodu who is also a teacher in the public school, added.

The pilot edition was held on June 1, 2022, at Ayangbure Primary school and was attended by 120 pupils.
