Oro Festival Holds Tomorrow In Ikorodu

The annual Liwe festival, popularly called ‘Oro Liwe’, holds tomorrow, Tuesday, June 28,2022, in lkorodu community.
During the festival, women are expected to stay indoor throughout the day.

Liwe, which is one of the major traditions of the people of Isele in Ikorodu, is the second of the two yearly Oro festivals.

Chief Rafiu Onilegboro, a chieftain of the Oro cult and top community security expert, confirmed the festival to our reporter at The Factor Class at the weekend.

Like the previous editions, women would remained indoor starting from late night today. They are also not allowed to come into the community from 12am today till Wednesday morning.

HE IMPACT gathered that two top fuji musicians: Alhaji Sulaimon Malaika and Alhaji Sule Atawewe will be performing for two groups at Owolowo and Ladega, two major parts of Isele in Ikorodu, for the Oro eve celebrations.

The annual festival, which is being used in cleansing the community and pray for the economic and social prosperity, is an agelong festival of the people of Ikorodu community.
