Aroyewun Announces Withdrawal From 2023 Constituency II Assembly Race

One of the aspirants that has shown dynamic and purposeful campaign in the race to represent the Ikorodu Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Hameed Olalekan Aroyewun, popularly known and called, ‘HOA’, has announced his decision to drop his ambition for the much coveted seat after the outcome of the shadow primary election conducted by the political leaders in Ijede.

The young politician, who said that his decision was based on his consultations and respect for the leadership of the party and entreaties by many others, also added that, the process that he participated in up till Saturday, April 30, afforded him and his team the opportunity to reflect on what has transpired and reach the conclusion.

His withdrawal from the race was contained in a statement on Tuesday which he co-signed wirh the Director – General of his campaign organization, Mr Nurudeen Oshinlaja, and released on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.

In the statement, Aroyewun assured his teeming supporters and others that believed and contributed towards the pursuit of his aspiration to represent the Ikorodu Constituency II in 2023, that his aspiration to represent his people will eventually come to a reality in future.

“The LeAP team and I, Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun, have, in the last few days, been in consultation with our teeming supporters and members of my political family regarding the outcome of the Ijede LCDA APC shadow primaries for the aspirants for the lkorodu Constituency II Assembly seat”, the statement said.

“The process afforded us the opportunity to study what happened, analyze all options and debrief ourselves.

“That being done, we, hereby, formally announce the withdrawal of HOA4HOA’23 from the race of Ikorodu Constituency II representation in Lagos State House of Assembly, 2023. In other words, Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun (HOA), hereby, withdraw from the race. This decision is hinged on the respect for the structure and leaders of our party (APC) in Ijede LCDA, Ikorodu Division and Lagos State”, the statement reads.

“We also accept the entreaties from community leaders who we hold in high esteem. We understand that society progresses when people accept unfavourable outcomes no matter how unpleasant such is”.

Aroyewun and his campaign Director-General said that the withdrawal will not affect the principles and ideology behind the campaign as the team will continue to impact on the society, especially the youths.

“Despite this withdrawal, we will not deprive the good people of Ikorodu Constituency II the robust and altruistic agenda encapsulated in our ‘Quantum LeAP’ ideology. We shall explore means and be opened to partnerships that will, for example, develop our youth emancipation plan among others”, the statement assured.

The campaign team thanked the royal father of Egbin Kingdom, Oba Akeem Oyebo who they said stood by the team with his resources and connections, as well as others that supported the campaign with money and other resources.

“We appreciate the self-standing efforts of our beloved royal father, Alayeluwa Oba Abdul-Akeem Adeoriyomi Oluwasesan Oyebo, the Obateru of Egbin Kingdom, who stood by us like a father and his contributions remain inestimable. We are grateful to the Obateru in council and the people of Egbin kingdom, Ijede LCDA”, the statement said appreciatively.

“We also thank our generous donors; wonderful families, friends, respected well – wishers and and teeming supporters who are too numerous to name here. We thank all party faithful who showed us love and support.

“We are indebted to many individuals who graciously served in our LeAP Managament Team, Project LeAP, HOA4HOA’23 political base, HOA Foundation, HOA Graphics and Contents, HOA4HOA’23 Publicity, HOA4HOA’23 Writers league, HOA Motivation, HOA Moving Train and the Non-partisan Think Tank. You all represent the greatest assets our constituency has. We implore you to keep doing the very best for yourself and the society.

“HOA4HOA’23 might not be possible, but HOA4HOA will definitely be a reality!”, Aroyewun stated confidently in the statement.

“It has been a fulfilling experience for us. Thank you”, the statement concluded.
