Former LASPOTECH Rector, Dr. Lawal Opens Mosque In Honour Of Late Mother

Newly commissioned Alhaja Sukurah Agbeke Animashaun Islamic Centre at the LASPOTECH Estate, Idafa, Maya, Ikorodu.

The 9th Rector of the erstwhile Lagos State Polytechnic, now Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH), Dr. Abdulazeez Abioye Lawal, on Sunday, 20th March, 2022, formally commissioned a mosque in memory of his late mother, Alhaja Sukurah Agbeke Animashaun.

The commissioned Islamic Centre is located at the LASPOTECH Estate, Idafa, Maya, Ikorodu.

Dignitaries at the event included the Ag. Vice Chancellor, LASUSTECH, who was the Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Oluremi Nurudeen Olaleye, the Chief Imam of Ikorodu, Alhaji  Seifudeen Olowo – Oribi who was represented by Alhaji Sheikh Olowoidiamu, Head of Animashaun Family of Lagos, Alhaji Seifudeen Animashaun, Sheikh Abdulah, the Chief Imam of Idafa Community, Deans and Directors of LASUSTECH.

The Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Olaleye felicitated Dr. Lawal for dedicating the Islamic Centre in the name of his late mother and extended same appreciation to the Animashaun family of Lagos.

Dr. Abdulazeez A. Lawal expressed appreciation to the community for the financial, physical and spiritual support extended to the family during the official opening of the mosque.

 “May Almighty Allah reward you abundantly”, he prayed
