A former Commissioner nominee from Ikorodu Division, Mr Hameed Olalekan Aroyeweun, has donated gift items to the first baby delivered in 2022 at the General Hospital in Ijede.
The first baby in Ijede Hospital was delivered at 12.08am by Mrs Yakubu.
Aroyewun, who is the Vice President/Director of Programmes, Development Vanguard of Igbogbo, was the first individual to present gift items to the new born baby in the hospital.
He made the donation during his visit to the medical facility around 8.30am on January 1, 2022.
Aroyewun, who visited the hospital with his friends, was received by Dr Oni, the Director, Clinical Services, and other staff.
Speaking during the visit, Aroyewun congratulated the luck mother of the first baby of the year for her safe delivery and wished her and other mothers in the Ward happy New Year.
“We thank the Lord for the safe delivery by our mothers in this hospital. We thank and exalt His name for making us hear the voice of the child and that of the mother”, he said.
“I congratulate you madam for the safe delivery and for being the first woman to be delivered of a baby in this hospital this new year.
“I am here this morning with my friends to present our token to you and the baby for being the First Baby of the year 2022”, he added.
“I also want to commend our doctors, nurses and other staff of the hospital for their commitment to duties and for taking good care of our mothers, babies and other patients. May God continue to take care of you too”, he prayed.
“This hospital is doing great in terms of service delivery and we are proud to identify with you”.
Dr Oni, while presenting the team to the mother of the first baby of the year, thanked them for considering the General Hospital Ijede for their visit.
After the visit to the Hospital in ljede, Aroyewun and his team also visited General Hospital, Ikorodu, where he joined His Royal Majesty, Oba (Engr.) Kabir Shotobi and family and other dignitaries,, including Chairman of the Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS), Mr Rotimi Erogbogbo and other executive members of the association as well as Rotary club officials in presenting gift items to First Baby of the Year in the General Hospital.
