Egbin Monarch, Oba Oyebo Honoured With Excellence Award

The Ikorodu Division Human Resource Development Board (IDHRDB), under the umbrella of the Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group (IDRDG), has bestowed an Excellence Award on the monarch of the Egbin kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Adeoriyomi Akeem Oyebo.

Also honored were several  other prominent individuals among whom were Prof. Nimbe Adedipe, Pro – chancellor and Chairman, Governing council, CALEB University, Imota, High Chief Adewunmi Ogunsanya, Chairman, MultiChoice Nigeria and Chairman, Ikorodu Division Security Trust Limited, Engr. (Prof.) Patrick Nggody, a Professor of Food Engineering and Processing, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) and former Deputy Vice Chancellor, University of Nigeria, (UNN), Nsuka, and Dr Ola Adebogun, the Proprietor and Managing Director/CEO, CALEB Group of Schools and Visitor to CALEB University, Imota.

Oba Oyebo, alongside other awardees, was honoured at the 20th Memorial Lecture in honour of Prof. A.A. Adegbola themed, “All Flesh Is Grass: The Dimension of Non – Ruminant Feeding & Nutrition”, which took place at the main auditorium of the Ikorodu Town Hall, Ikorodu, on Saturday, November 6, 2021.

The monarch was honoured for his humanitarian efforts and impact on his community, Ikorodu Division, state, country and humanity in general.

As part of his contributions to humanity, the royal father recently established the first tuition free public Primary and Nursery Schools in his kingdom about two months ago, an exemplary gesture that has provided many children in Egbin and nearby communities the opportunity to have access to education.

Also, as a traditional ruler, Oba Oyebo has organized many workshops, seminars, trainings, conferences, retreats, health awareness, free health screening and treatment on Malaria, Cancer, Hypertensions, Avian Influenzas (Bird and Swine Flu), screening and donation of eyeglasses, scholarship and empowerment for his people.

The royal father, through his numerous companies and other establishments, has participated in many national and international promotional campaigns for Federal Government of Nigeria, such as Commonwealth Head of Government meeting held in Nigeria (CHOGOM 2003), African Union (AU) meeting, ECOWAS Trade fair (2005), National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) (2005), Africa Fertilizer Summit (2006), Africa / South America Summit, Re-branding of Nigeria Image (Nigeria the Hearth of Africa Projects), The Country Review Team (CTR) The African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) NEPAD Meeting (2008), Production, Printing and supply of Media and National Campaign/Publicity Materials on Avian Influenza (Bird Flu), Swine Flu, Roll Back Malaria, among others.

The companies have also worked for banks such as: Standard Trust Bank (now UBA), Stanbic Bank Plc. (Standard Bank of South Africa) now Stanbic IBTC among others.

His company, Printarts Limited, has published and printed many educational books such as: Citizen Education for Tertiary Institutions 1 & 2 authored by Alake A. A, Nigeria Business & Co-operative Law by Owolabi N. B, Media Law & Ethics in Nigeria: A Comparative Analysis by W. Olafimihan Fatoba, Company Law in Nigeria by W. His humanitarian activities and other contributions to humanity earned him the conferment of a Degree Certificate of Doctor of Arts in Public Leadership, Peace and Community Leadership Honoris Causa in the European-American University in August, 2014.
