Ijede Development Foundation Sets To Honour Pillars, Presents Performance Report

Alhaji ( Prince) Adegbola Amusa, pioneer Ijede Development Foundation (IDF) Chairman and a retired Principal, Dr Ganiy I. Agbaje, PhD,Fnis, a major IDF Pillar and Alhaji Fola Salu, IDF Chairman.

In a bid to prove that it is not only a community development organisation but also an accountable one, the Ijede Development Foundation (IDF) is set to present its performance report between 2014 and 2019 to the general public.

The body will also be celebrating its pillars who have been given financial and moral support to the IDF, especially in the areas of providing funds for the bursary and scholarship awards for students.

The event is tagged, ‘Sponsors’ Day & Performance Report 2014 – 2019’, with the theme: “Celebrating The Pillars of IDF”.

Chief G.I. Agbaje, is the Chairman of the occasion scheduled to hold by 1.00pm at the IDF Secretariat, opposite D – Crown Hotel, Ijede, on Saturday, 16th October, 2021.

HRM Oba Akeem Adeoriyomi Oyebo, the Obateru of Egbin and High Chief Musediq Alogba, the Regent and Olisa of Ijede, are the royal fathers of the day, while Senator Tokunbo Abiru, Hon. Babajimi Benson and Hon. Nurudeen Solaja are special Guests of Honour.

Hon. Motunrayo Alogba, Chairman, ljede LCDA, and Alhaji Fola Salu, IDF Chairman, are the Chief Host and Host respectively.

The scholarship idea of the IDF was initiated by pioneer Chairman of the body and a retired Principal, Alhaji ( Prince) Adegbola Amusa, for the benefit  of indigenes and residents of Ijede.

According to the Secretary of IDF, Mr Kunle Matti, the scholarship award for the undergraduates indigent students in Ijede, which is N50,000 per beneficiary, has been on since 2014 with the last batch given out in 2019.

“Since that time, over N6m naira has been invested into the project and the scholarship awards to beneficiaries with over 120 beneficiaries recorded in six years”, he said.

“Another award for First Class undergraduates is being sponsored by Dr Ganiy I. Agbaje, PhD (Cambridge University), which is N100,000 per beneficiary.

“Details information about sponsors and their monetary contributions towards the amazing success of the group is contained in our special brochure tagged, ‘SPONSORS’ DAY & PERFORMANCE REPORT’, “, Matti added.

Some of these major sponsors of IDF programmes which are usually three – in – one: Scholarship for Undergraduates, Quiz and debate competitions and annual lecture, that would be honoured are Dr Nurudeen Olambiwonnu, Dr Ganiy I. Agbaje, PhD,Fnis, Ijede LCDA, Egbin Power PLC, Hon N.S Solaja, Hon Jimi Benson and Senator Bareehu Ashafa among others.

Other members of IDF that have been steering the ship of the organization and ensuring that funds that are being provided by sponsors are effectively disbursed to students are Alhaji Taoreed Babatunde T (TBT), Vice Chairman, Mr Lanre Kuye,  Publicity Secretary, Mr Adeyemi Amos, Assistant Secretary, Hon Wasiu A. Agoro Financial Secretary, Alhaji M. Yekeen, Treasurer, Alhaja Kafilat Amusa-Hassan, Assistant Financial Secretary, Alhaji B. A Saminu, Auditor, Mr Ganiyu Hamzat, Member,  Hon Fatiu Salisu,  Member and Chief Isiaka Olambiwonnu, member, among others.

According to the organizers, the programme is strictly for the Sponsors of IDF Annual Scholarship for Undergraduate students and Quiz and Debate Competitions.

 Others expected at the event are IDF members and some invited guests.
