Youths In Politics Will Bring About More Progressive Development

The immediate past Chairman of the Ikorodu – Oga Develomrnt Association (IKODASS), Otunba Ganiyu Abiru, has commended the involvement of youths in politics, stating that such would engender progressive developments.

While also commending youths that are aspiring to be chairman in various councils in Ikorodu division, the retired Permanent Secretary /Clerk of the Lagos State House of Assembly charged the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to allow for a free and fair primary election to allow them compete.

Abiru spoke with THE IMPACT at the formal campaign flag-off of Prince Adedoyin Ogunbiyi Jokotex last weekend.

“That is exactly what we are expecting. That is what we are asking from them, that they should take up the responsibilities. That they should not wait till tomorrow and that is what we are witnessing. We are now seeing the influx of young men participating in politics. That is a good sign for Nigeria, that is a good sign for Lagos State, most especially lkorodu. I am happy that we are witnessing a progressive development.

“My message to party leaders and members is that they should ensure a level play ground for all the contestants. I want the youths to showcase what they are made of, that is the only way we can practice progressive democracy.

In his assessment of Prince Adedoyin Ogunbiyi Jokotex, the aspirant for the Chairmanship position in Ikorodu North LCDA, Abiru said that he sees a young man that would transform Ikorodu North LCDA.

“He is our hope. He is a young man that will transformed the administration of Ikorodu North LCDA” Otunba Abiru said.

“I want to implore that the people of Ikorodu North LCDA should, please, vote for him. He is going to transform the entirety of Ikorodu North.

“He has his agenda and also possess capacity and knowledge to execute them. You can hear all what He’s saying. That is why l am pleading to the electorate to, please, vote for him and make him the Chairman of the council”, Otunba pleaded.
