Tortuga Frigate Sets To Present NECO Forms To Students

A humanitarian and developmental platform, Tortuga Frigate, has concluded plans to distribute 55 Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) forms, being conducted by the National Examination Council (NECO), to brilliant and less privileged students who cannot afford it.

The presentation of the forms to beneficiaries is scheduled to hold on Friday, May 7, 2021, at the Nigerian Union of Teachers Secretariat, (Teachers House), Methodist/Oga Primary Schools compound , Ikorodu.

The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Education, recently gave approval for the educational intervention by the group.

Com. Pelumi Olalekan (Rado), the Chairman of the Tortuga Frigate, Ikorodu, speaking with THE IMPACT, said that the exercise is part of the club’s contributions to educational development in Ikorodu Divisio

“This is part of our annual programmes towards the development of Ikorodu Division educationally and in other aspects”, he said.

“Through this, we are ensuring that brilliant and less privileged students are supported and encouraged to progress academically and attain the best level that they can educational wise”.

He said that over 50 students, particularly the indigent ones, would be presented NECO/SSCE forms by the group.

“Initially, we intended to give out 30 forms and we asked various platforms, groups and individuals to nominate deserving students but we had to increase it because of requests”, he said.

“On Friday, we shall be given out 55 NECO forms to various beneficiaries as our own contributions to the development of education in Ikorodu Division. This is a programme that will be done annually”, Com. Pelumi added.
