In furtherance of his consultation in respect of his aspiration to become the next Chairman of the Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area in Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Prince Adedoyin Ogunbiyi Jokotex has paid homage to the Eweye of Isiwu, His Royal Majesty, Oba Olukayode David Raji.

The campaign team also visited one of the Ward leaders and the first female Councillor in Ikorodu North LCDA, Mrs Alice Raji popularly called ‘My Sister’.

Prince Ogunbiyi, speaking during the visit, said that the team was paying homage to the monarch to seek his royal support for his aspiration to occupy the number position in the council.

“Kabiyesi, I came here today with my people to pay homage to you as our revered royal father and to inform you of my aspiration towards the chairmanship position of our dear council, Ikorodu North LCDA”, he said.

“We are also here to seek and receive your support and prayers for this aspiration.

“We know that we must seek your consent first before we go fully into our campaign programme which is why we are here today to inform you, seek your consent and receive your prayers.

“We know the nature of our community and as someone born into a Yoruba family, we understand that this is a community that is proud of its tradition and moral and we cannot neglect that in our quest”, the Chairmanship aspirant added.

He said that his plan is to involve the people in the administration of the council since governance is all about the people.

“Our aspiration is all about the community and we are determined to involve people in our administration”, he pledged.

“We have been doing both internal and external consultations by meeting with people to intimate them on our aspiration.

“Among those that we have been meeting are Baales and we have a lot of them in our Ikorodu”.

In his royal remarks, Oba Raji prayed for the success of Ogunbiyi’s aspiration and charged him to work hard for the position.

He also cautioned him against unguided utterances while also asking him to let his good background reflect in his political engagements.

“It shall be well with you and you shall succeed because you honour elders by consulting them first. Your aspiration shall be a success”, Eweye of Isiwu prayed for the Chairmanship aspirant.

“You must work very hard if you have to get the exalted position. Political engagements are always very stressful, tasking and war – like but you must caution yourself on what you say.

“Try not to say what people will use against you.

“I know your father is a gentle and nice man, you must emulate him. Show people that you are a good person and have good home training and they will love you for that”, Oba Balogun advised.

“God will support you and you shall rejoice and come back here to testify. You shall not regret your aspiration”.
