Meanwhile, commendations have also continued to trail the covering of the road with asphalt from Igbe junction. The asphalting started on Tuesday, December 15, 2020.

When our reporter visited the site of the project last Saturday, the laying of the asphalt had reached half of the road.

The contractor handling the rehabilitation work, JRB Investment, commenced work on Monday, September 28, 2020, after the residents of the seven Community Development Associations (CDAs) in Igbe area had stabilized the road through self – help.

The road, which was constructed by the Jakande administration in the early 80s, had collapsed for many years and adversely affected social and economic lives of the people in the area, while every attempt by the residents to make successive administration in the state to rehabilitate the road proved abortive.
