Lagos To Pay Tertiary Institution Workers New Minimum Wage

Lagos State Government has agreed to pay workers in state-owned tertiary institutions the new minimum wage starting from October this year.

The agreement was reached on Tuesday at meeting with the leaders of the staff unions in Ikeja.

A statement signed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, said that the State Government took the decision to restore and sustain normalcy as all stakeholders collectively strive to ensure a guaranteed future for the students and institutions.

It was gathered that workers across various tertiary institutions in the state protested on Monday to show their displeasure over the issue.
