Coronavirus: Lagos Confirms 23 New Cases, 1Death

Lagos State Government on Sunday confirmed 23 new cases of COVID – 19 in the state to increase total figure to 309 cases.

Prof. Akin Abayomi, the Commissioner of Health gave the update on his twitter handle.

According to the Commissioner, four COVID – 19 patients were also discharged as at Saturday, April 18.

“#COVID19Lagos update as at 18th of April, 2020.

“23 new #COVID19 cases confirmed in Lagos.

“The total number of confirmed #COVID19 cases in Lagos is now 309.

“4 #COVID19 patients were discharged as at 18th of April bringing the total discharged cases to 94.

The Commissioner also disclosed that one more death was recorded, bringing the number of COVID – 19 deaths in the state to 14.

“Lagos recorded 1 death, bringing total number of #COVID19 related deaths in Lagos to 14” Prof. Abayomi stated on his twitter handle.

“The deceased is a female, aged 83 with underlying health issues.

He charged residents to keep observing social distancing and stay-at-home directive of the government.

“Let’s observe #SocialDistancing and #StayHome, to stop the transmission of #COVID19 infection #ForAGreaterLagos” he appealed.
