18 Public Servants Honoured With Ikorodu-Oga’s Award of Excellence

His Royal Majesties, Oba Kabir Shotobi, the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, Oba Semiudeen Kasali, the Adeboruwa of igbogb, Chairman, Ikorodu-Oga Development Association (IKODASS), Otunba Segun Abiru and other guests on the high table during the Public Service /Local Government Day which is part of the annual Ikorodu-Oga Day celebration

The Ikorodu-Oga Development Association (IKODASS), on Friday ,  November  16, 2018,  honoured 18 Public Servants with Excellence Service Award at the Public Service/Local Government Day which  was one the  activities  marking  the 27th Ikorodu-Oga  Day Carnival.

This year’s edition of the Public Service /Local Government   Day was in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the inclusion of the activity  as part of the programmes marking the annual Ikorodu-Oga Day Celebration.

The event was designed as networking and reunion day for the public servants.

At the event which held at the Ikorodu Town Hall, located on Olubi Street, Ikorodu, Mr Afolabi Isau Odesanya, Mr Shakitu Odusanya, Magistrate Adedeji Ogbe, Mr Ogunpyin Lateef, Mrs Mabodu Adenike, Comrade Fakolade O. Oluwaseun, Bajomo Olaitan Olutoyin and Mr Akintola W.A were presented with Excellence Award.

Other awardees were Mr Kayode Ogbe, Mr Olusanya Ebenezer Abayomi, Mr Awobajo Sunday Benjamin, Prince Adegbeminiyi A. Thomas, Mr Farouk Abiodun Giwa, Mr Nurudeen Anibaba, Mr Olawale Erogbogbo, Mrs Toyin Senaike and Mrs Rotimi Ayeni.

The Chairman, Ikorodu-Oga Development Association (IKODASS), Otunba Olusegun Abiru,while  speaking at the event, stated that the event was designed to bring together all the public servants.

“As you are aware, this is an event designed to bring together as one indivisible entity the Public Servants in the state in an atmosphere of conviviality and joy.

“It is an undeniable fact that the Public Servants are the bedrock of any government and I say with pride that the Public Servants from this community have always distinguished themselves in their various posts of responsibilities.

“I, therefore, congratulate you all for making Ikorodu proud. I must also add that the Ayangbure of Ikorodu is very proud of you and enjoin you all to continually strive to be among the best of Public Servants in the state”, he charged them.

Otunba Abiru, while thanking the planning committee,  also congratulated the awardees.

“For those of you who have been given awards, I must heartily congratulate you and pray that God Almighty would continue to elevate you. This award is in recognition of your dedication to duty, selflessness and commitment to your assigned responsibilities. Ikorodu community is proud of you all”, he said.

Citations  Of Some  Of  The  Awardees  :

Mr Afolabi Odesanya, who joined the Local Government Service Commission in 1996 as an Administrative II, is the Human Resource Officer of Kosofe Local Government.

He was the Senior Special Assistant on Youths, Sports and Special Needs to the Governor of State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola.

Mr Shakirudeen Odusanya is the General Manager/Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Printing Press Corporation.

He attended Lagos State University, Ojo

Magistrate Adedeji Ogbe attended Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos, where he studied Law and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2006.

He joined the Law firm of K.O. Tinubu & Co. in 2007 as an Associate. He left in December 2013 to establish his own private practice.

He was appointed as a Magistrate by the Lagos State Judiciary in May 2016. He was elected as the Assistant General Secretary of the Magistrate Association of Nigeria, Lagos State Branch in 2017.

He is a Deacon of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

Mr Abdul Wasiu Akintola, the Head of Administration/Council Manager, Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA attended Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos where he bagged B.A (Hons) English and later Masters in Public Administration in the same institution.

He had served in several capacities.

Comrade Fakolade Oluwafemi is the Ikorodu Branch Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT). He attended St. Andrew College of Education, Oyo and later Lagos State University, Ojo.

He joined the Teaching Service over two decades ago and has consistently been in the vanguard for better working conditions for teachers.

He has attended several seminars and conferences within and outside Nigeria.

Mrs Mabodu Adenike Elizabeth is the Chairman, Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Ikorodu LG.

She joined the Service in 1996.
