Oba Shotobi Confers Otunbaship Titles On Five Ikorodu Princes

The Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Adewale Kabir Shotobi, Adegorushen V, has conferred Otunba titles on some Ikorodu princes as part of the activities marking his third year coronation ceremony.

The traditional ruler bestowed the titles on the deserving Princes at the Ayangbure Palace on Thursday, August 9, 2018.

Present at the ceremony were royal fathers, chiefs, dignitaries, well-wishers, as well as princes and princesses of Ikorodu Kingdom.

Oba Shotobi, in his speech at the ceremony, expressed his satisfaction to have been on his forebears throne.

“I am very pleased and glad to sit on this throne. It is a great pleasure to sit on the throne of my forefathers and I thank God for the privilege”.

He congratulated the new Otunbas and enjoined them to be good ambassadors of Ikorodu kingdom.

Those conferred with the Otunba titles are Chief Gbenga Kuti Ajenise as Otunba Efuewu of Ikorodu Kingdom, Prince Wasiu Tiwalade Odofin as Otunba Adetelu of Ikorodu Kingdom, Prince Oluwole Sanni as Otunba Adenoun of Ikorodu Kingdom, Prince Kadri Adetunji Owoyele as Otunba Kuyinu of Ikorodu Kingdom, and Chief Kamarudeen Ogunfowora Ojora as Otunba Onadugba of Ikorodu Kingdom.

Amongst the dignitaries present at the occasion were Dr. and Mrs Bob Robert J Brown,  Pillar of Ikorodu, Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Oba Mudashiru Ajibade Bakare Agoro, Ranodu of Imota, Oba Adeoriyomi Akeem Oyebo, Obateru of Egbin, Oba Muftau Adebayo Lawal, Onipe of Ipe kingdom Kwara State, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, Chief Anifowose, Chief and Chief (Mrs). Odulate among others.

One of the new Otunbas, Prince Wasiu Tiwalade Odofin, who contended with Oba Shotobi for the Kingship title in 2015, expressed joy over the honour bestowed on him.

Many of the residents who spoke with THE IMPACT stated that Oba Shotobi deserved accolades because he has caused the land to flourish and developed within his three years reign.
