Thousands of guests and residents of Ikorodu on Saturday, June 15, 2019, defied the heavy downpour in the early hours of the day to celebrate with the Majority Leader and the representative of Ikorodu Constituency I, Hon. Sanai Oyeniran Bolanle Agunbiade, on his recent electoral victory .
Hon. Agunbiade was re-elected as the representative of the Ikorodu Constituency I at the Lagos State House of Assembly for the fourth term in March at the 2019 general elections and was also re-elected for the second term as the Majority Leader of the House during the inauguration of the 9th Assembly last week.
At the Thanksgiving and Appreciation party held at the Ikorodu Musical Village on Saturday, June 15, 2019, there was an impressive turnout of traditional rulers, party leaders, religious leaders, market leaders, chieftains of community development associations, representatives of youth groups, socio-cultural associations and residents of Ikorodu who had come to celebrate with the well loved lawmaker who many described as lawmaker extra-ordinary .
Guests came from different parts of the three Councils that formed Ikorodu Constituency I which have been voting the ranking legislator as there representative since 2007. Scores of other guests and well wishers outside the constituency were also in attendance.
Hon Agunbiade, who was the host and star of the event, was seen welcoming guests in the heavy downpour and also going from one-table-to-the-other to thank them for their attendance.
He seized the opportunity of the event to expressed his sincere appreciation to the people for the support he has got from them so far and promised to continue to do more to appreciate them further.
The atmosphere at Musical Village was very colourful and convivial as the hall was filled to the its capacity filled with a massive crowd of people who had a fun filled moment all through.
Speaking briefly with our reporter, Hon. Agunbiade stated that the gathering was to show appreciation to his party and generality of Ikorodu people for trusting him with their mandate once again.
“This is just to show my appreciation to my party for providing me with the platform that afforded me the opportunities that have crystallized to the current status. May it pleases the good Lord to strengthen our party and take it to a greater height.
”May the Lord continue to bless and prosper the leadership of our, especially our National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and all others at the National, State, Senatorial , Local Government and Ward levels.
“I also want to thank the entirety of Ikorodu people for their love, affection and support.
“With this new mandate, I pledge continuous commitment to give more to my constituents who have entrusted me with this challenge via their massive votes.
“As always, I pledge quality representation”.
Hon. Agunbiade was first elected as a lawmaker representing Ikorodu Constituency I at the Lagos State House of Assembly in 2007 and was massively re-elected in 2011, 2015 and 2019 .
