100 Youths Attend Youth Entrepreneurship Summit In Ikorodu

About 100 youths attended the 9th edition of the Youth Entrepreneurship Summit (YES), themed, “Thinking Your Way Through Successful Entrepreneurship Guidance”.

The summit, which was held recently at the Funcity in Ikorodu, was organized by the Golden Integrated Empowerment Foundation.

The 20 widows present at the event were also given packs containing beverages and food items to mark the 2019 International Women’s Day.

There were also display of hand-made articles and products made by some young entrepreneurs trained by Golden Integrated Empowerment Foundation.

Hon. Babajimi Benson, Member, House of Representatives and Mayor Deen Sanwoola, the Director-General, iCare Movement, sent their goodwill messages to encourage the participants.

The Convener of the summit, Miss Okosodo Patricia Eye, while speaking on the topic, ‘Characteristics Of A Good Entrepreneur’, stated that a good entrepreneur must be creative, persistent, responsible, discipline, seeking ideas from mentors, having goals and self-confident. “

Others qualities of a good entrepreneur, according to her, are checking on one’s capacity and looking for opportunities for what he/she can invest in.

Also speaking on the topic, “Start With What You Have”, Prince Saheed Laisis stated that young entrepreneurs must have confidence in whatever they are doing.

“Believe in whatever that you do because whatever market you create for yourself will work for you.

“Look around for what you think people go out of your surroundings to buy and think outside the box and start from the very last.”

He also advised that young entrepreneurs should start saving from their earnings to invest in their desired business.

“Save some amount from the money you are being paid for the future or towards the business that you intend going into. “

Barr. Abbass Ahmed Dada Abbas, another speaker who spoke on , “How To Raise Money For Your Business”, stated that, “Until your brain functions to assist you in life, your struggling will continue”.

While stating that every nation has her own signature, he added that young entrepreneurs need to be thinkers and responsible.

“You need to be a thinker and responsible.

“Whatever we need to be successful has already been given to us.  All we need to do is to add responsibility to it.

“Have an idea and run around to implement and not standing still”, he warned.
