The South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA) has fixed November 13, 2026, for the commencement of its grassroots mobilisation campaign for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the forthcoming general elections in 2027, and the election of Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat.
The initiative, tagged SWAGA 2.0, will begin with a summit on the 13th of November 2026, at the Blue Roof, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos, featuring prominent APC chieftains and other resource persons.
In a statement issued in Lagos on Monday by Hon. (Princess) Folashade Olabanji- Oba , an apex member of SWAGA and member, Media Publicity Committee and Mobilisation Committee, Lagos State Chapter of the group, said that the group mobilisation would extend across the six South-West states, with members also campaigning for all APC candidates contesting seats in the National Assembly and State Houses of Assembly, particularly in Lagos State.

SWAGA comprises former federal and State lawmakers, as well as prominent APC chieftains across the South-West region. The group was among the early political platforms to advocate H. E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidential ambition ahead of the 2023 general elections.
According to her, the decision to commence the new mobilisation drive followed a strategy meeting held in Lagos, presided over by the Lagos State Chairman of SWAGA, Hon. Monsuru Owolabi, a four-term member of the Federal House of Representatives, with other chieftains in attendance.

Hon. Olabanji -Oba, who is also a Commissioner, Lagos State Local Government Service Commission,
also stated that the group has concluded arrangements for activities aimed at securing support for Tinubu’s re-election and Hamzat’s governorship bid, adding that SWAGA, under Hon. Monsuru Owolabi’s great leadership, has put necessary structures in place for awesome mobilisation exercise.
She described SWAGA 2.0 as a renewed effort to rally party members and supporters behind Tinubu, drawing on the group’s previous successful political mobilisation ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
“I am happy to inform you that SWAGA is back again. Bigger and and Better! .What we are doing this time in SWAGA 2.0, is put together to ensure the return of our able and amiable great leader and father of the nation who is putting the country back to great shape,” Hon. Olabanji- Oba said.

“We are working day and night to bring our members together to shore up the needed support for H.E.President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, just as we did the last time in 2023. We did it before, and we want to do it even better with a landslide victory at the polls this time”.
She said that the November 13 Summit would feature prominent APC members as speakers and resource persons to provide strategic direction for the group’s campaign.
Among those expected to speak are former APC National Legal Adviser, Dr Muiz Banire; Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Dr Kayode Opeifa; and Professor Yemi Oke of the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos.

Hon. Olabanji- Oba said the group intends to draw on the experience and expertise of party insiders to strengthen its mobilisation strategy.
“We are going to bring in-house resource persons within the party to speak on different aspects of our campaign efforts. I mean the likes of Dr Muiz Banire , Hon. Princess Remi Adebowale,Rt. Hon.Funmilayo Tejuosho, Hon. Hakeem Muniru, Hon. Princess Dr. Folashade Olabanji- Oba, Dr Kayode Opeifa, to spur us on the way forward”, she said.
She added that SWAGA would also leverage Hon. Monsuru Owolabi’s experience as a four-term member of the House of Representatives and his grassroots political network to drive the exercise.

The group said that the initiative would focus on building great support for H.E.President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Victorious return to office in the 2027 Elections , H.E. Dr Dr Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat’s Lagos 2027 governorship ambition and all APC candidates seeking legislative seats at the Federal and State levels across the South-West.
