The Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District, Sen. Tokunbo Abiru, FCA, has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of the independence day anniversary today, stating that it offers Nigerians the opportunity to reflect on the journey of nationhood so far.
Abiru also stated that the celebration calls for recommitment from the citizenry towards building a peaceful, prosperous and inclusive country.
The federal lawmaker stated in a statement commemorating the October 1st Independence Day.
”On behalf of the good people of Lagos East Senatorial District, I warmly felicitate Nigerians, at home and abroad, on the occasion of our Independence Day celebration.
”Our independence celebrates our nationhood, diversity and the enduring spirit of a people united by a common destiny. It also offers an opportunity to reflect on our journey and renew our collective commitment to building a peaceful, prosperous and inclusive Nigeria”.
He commended President Bola Tinubu’s efforts at repositioning Nigeria through several reforms, and urged patience from the citizenry for the efforts to manifest.
”As we navigate this defining chapter in our nation’s history, we must acknowledge the bold and courageous reforms being undertaken by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to reposition our nation for sustainable growth and development.
”While these reforms require sacrifices, it is important that we remain patient, resilient and united as we work to consolidate the gains and build a stronger economic foundation for present and future generations.
